A customer that bought the $12 gift certificate comes in every month, stays, and conservatively spends an additional $23 (based on another entree and 2 drinks, if they are accompanied by friends and family and this number multiplies). Your donation of $12 a month x 12 months = $144/year donated to the charity you chose. This is the retail cost, not wholesale. When they spend an additional $23 per visit you gross $276 for just one donation given monthly. Donate to 140 events and you gross $38,640, and you receive charitable deduction receipts in the amount of $20,160.
